Where would i find cheap heating pads and other accessories for a snake tank
I am thinking about getting a King Snake, but i'm trying to figure out how
much it would all cost, if anyone knows anything about where l can get
cheap heating pads and bedding and even cages, that'd be awesome.
i'v always built my own enclosures and as for heat pads.be
careful because then can burn your snake, i'v always used a light that is
hooked upto a thermostat. just remember if you build your own, make sure
everything is non-toxic and water based as this can effect your snake,
also glass tanks (fish tanks etc.) can cause respiratory problems so its
better to go for a timber enclosure with a perspecs (or how ever you spell
it) window and air vents on each side.
Yeah Ebay is pretty good, but a lot of the stuff I have gotten
over the years came from the ads in papers. People are all the time
buying snakes & then up & decide they dont want them so the will sell the
whole set up really cheap. I also have quite a few pet stores around
that sell second hand stuff. That sure beats paying shipping & handling
on Ebay. Call around ur area & see. You can go to walmart to get a water
dish & bedding. Aspen works good for kings (i have a lot of kings). And you can find ur own stump for the snake to hide in or climb on. The only thing is that you have to treat it by putting it in ur over for 350 for about 30 minutes or so to kill all the bacteria & to make sure you don't transer mites to ur snake.
